How to letter in band

120 Points are required to letter, and all points must be aquired during the school year.
You must be in band both semesters. Seniors who have not earned a letter in past years will recieve one during their last semester.

Band

10 points

Instrumental solo or ensemble (outside of school activity--limit of one)

10 points

Special accompanist

10 points

Band Staff Member

10 points

Clinic tryouts (All-State, Hastings, Wesleyan, LYS, etc.)

10 points

Clinic or Symphony member

10 points

First chair position

10 points

Points for challenging and winning

5 points

Solo and Ensemble Contest

Superior rating: 20 points
Excellent rating: 15 points
Good rating: 10 points

Pep Bands (basketball and volleyball) (Football games are mandatory and part of your grade)

Regular season pep games: 2 points each
District and state pep games: 5 points each

Private lessons (proof furnished)

0-10 points

Practice sheets (proof furnished)

0-10 points

Cultural reports (limit two)

0-10 points

Attend concerts (concerts you play in do not count)

5 points each

Leadership

36 minor scales - 1 point each
